Great 40 minute documentary original screened In February 1963 whilst the Big Freeze was still on.
Britain can have some horrible weather but its Winters are not usually known for their cold [ especially in the South of the country ]. The Winter of 1962-1963 was something else with punishing artic cold that even froze the sea. The Severe Winter started with a Blizzard on Boxing Day 1962 and lasted until March 1963.

My uncle was a grave digger during that period and he said that the ground was that solid that it was impossible to dig. He passed away before he could see this but I'm sure he would've enjoyed it and thank you
