Beautiful Vintage item from around 1800's Georgian circa.

Cast iron fire backs like this had two uses

Fire backs would radiate heat back into the room meaning a room with a fire back would recieve twice as much heat from a fire.

Also they protected brickwork of fireplaces.

Cast Iron will last for hundreds of years.

Very heavy,weight must be around 100 kilo's.80 cms tall x 58cms wide.
